Thursday, September 15th, 7:30 pm ET
Hosted in our comfy Zoom room
The event will be led by Sam-Daley Harris, who has trained and inspired volunteer activists to publish thousands of impactful opinion pieces across the country on a variety of important issues.
Sam founded the anti-poverty lobby RESULTS in 1980. In 2012 he launched Civic Courage, which helps nonprofits transform their members into courageous citizen leaders. He coached Citizens' Climate Lobby its first seven years and is the author of Reclaiming Our Democracy: Healing the Break between People and Government.
The workshop will be kicked off with a quick dose of inspiration from two accomplished leaders at FairVote. Communications Director, Ashley Houghton will give us a brief summary of the data showing LTEs impact for RCV this year. Advocacy Program Coordinator Diane Silver will highlight past successes she's had turning volunteers into RCV educators with powerful megaphones through LTEs.
Together with Rank the Vote's Executive Director Nathan Lockwood, we'll go through a quick group exercise that will get our heads deep in the flow of the RCV messaging zone. Then Sam will walk us through the easy process of writing and getting published and have us start our own letters.
