Better Ballot SC Events

Weekly Work Jam and Welcome: These free form Zoom sessions are all about getting work done. Roll up your sleeves to learn a new skill or contribute with what your best at. Wednesdays: February 16, February 23, and March 2.

Meeting and Trivia: February 17, 7pm, The Mellow Mushroom in Lexington. Join us for a low key Better Ballot Meeting at 7 followed by Mellow Mushroom hosted trivia at 7:30. A great meeting for first timers and BBSC veterans alike. Meet your local IRV supporters and hopefully win the trivia prize! Let's win this!

Pitch Training: March 2, 8:30pm. Learn the ins and outs of canvassing from the pros! This training will enable you to skillfully canvass and educate South Carolinians about instant runoff voting. Not sure about canvassing? That's okay too. You can use these skills to talk to anyone about IRV.

Canvassing at the Soda City Market: February 19 and March 5. They'll come for the food and shopping and we'll educate them about instant runoff voting. Join us for a good time talking to our fellow South Carolinians.

Quarterly Statewide Call: Wednesday April 27 @ 7pm. Join us to get the latest updates and discussion on upcoming events and strategy. We'll be meeting via Zoom. Register here.

Collective for Organizers for Reformed Elections (CORE) are holding their first meeting. Their goal is to bring more organizers of color into the democracy reform space and provide them with tools, resources, and networks to succeed. On Saturday February 26 at 2pm, they will be hosting a panel conversation with voting rights and democracy reform organizers from NY, MD, SC, MN, TX, and CA. Register here.

The League of Women Voters turns 102 years old on February 14, 2022. In recognition of this event, LWV Columbia’s public policy forum, to be held on February 17th, 12 - 1pm via Zoom, will
feature two eminent speakers will give their unique perspectives on equal rights and women's activism for the right to vote. Register here.
